Thomas and his friend Henry.

Our Father's Day weekend  began with a train.  You may recognize his big smiley face as Thomas the Tank Engine.  We took a trip almost 1.5 hours away to see this big blue steam engine, and boy was it worth our while.
When I came into his room to get him Saturday morning, the first words out of his mouth were "I'm going to Thomas da twain today!"  The excitement became a true reality as we walked towards the station and he laid eyes on his cartoon hero who had come to life.  A joyous and grinning AHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! exploded from his mouth as we got closer.  A very serious Henry took his ticket and boarded the train for a ride.  He wasn't quite sure what to think at first, barely cracking a smile and taking in the sites both in and out of the car.  He warmed up to it all as he kicked his legs to the familiar tunes of Thomas the Train and enjoyed the ride.
Then it was off to participate in some activities, mainly a random yet loved put put golf area.  He was thrilled to give high fives to the Sir Topham Hat, and to shake hands with the trains conductor.   It was a blast to watch him enjoy such a special day for a little boy.
If A Day Out With Thomas comes to a city near you I would definitely recommend taking your little one too!
