Floating for Father's Day

Road trip entertainment with a 14 month old can get a little dicey.  This lasted 5 minutes which we were pretty pleased with.  All the car mishaps and screams are totally worth it though when your headed down to the lake for a weekend with water and time with family.  Henry had the opportunity to touch, see, and point at boats, fish, ducks, docks, and water.  His reaction to the views surrounding us on the houseboat was a constant outburst of "watah, watah watah!"  Letting us know it's everywhere!

For a little water introduction fun we turned on the water and gave Henry and bucket to splash in.

Then you add a cousin who knows how to throw down in bucket town.

Cruising down the lake was another moment in Henry's little life where he sat still and quietly soaked up everything that was happening around him.  The movement of the waves beneath us, the boats passing by, the wind in his hair and his Pop at the wheel.

What a fantastic way to spend Father's day weekend.
We left Sunday to spend time with Barry's Dad but not before getting to see more family as we celebrated all the great Dad's we know, especially the great great Pepaw.

Foto Reel - 63

This week flew by as we got ourselves ready for a lil yard sale action and enjoyed spending time with my family at the lake.  What a busy and blessed life we are leading right now.

Foto Reel - 61

This past week we brought the heat indoors as we experienced 5 days without AC.  So we spent a lot of time looking at this baby trying to stay cool in his diaper.  Which is never a bad thing to have to look at.
He found a new obsession with feeding his stuffed animals.
We tried to stay outside as much as possible to at least catch a breeze or splash around in some water.

He made a milestone discovery when he found the candy drawer at Granny and Pepaw's house.  For 30 years that little drawer has been pawed at by little fingers prying their way inside for a whiff of chocolate covered raisins or the taste of a orange truffle.  He didn't get a taste of the goods just yet but he was certainly excited to show off the loot!

We enjoyed our daily "bike ride" earlier in the morning so that we would miss the hotter parts of the day.
After spending a small fortune on a new heat and air unit we are thankfully back to living comfortable in our home.  I feel blessed to have AC in my home and feel privileged to live in a country where this is a normal creature comfort.
