a Berry good time.

Last week we had an amazing day.  Picking blackberries and enjoying the coolness in the air that let us know fall will soon be on it's way.
Henry was excited to go and I had my first taste of a conversation with him during our little trip.  I explained where we were going and what we would be doing as I buckled him into his car seat.  The whole drive there was filled with the sound of his little voice saying "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, berries."  "Mommy, Mommy, rabbit."  over and over again.  It was cool to know he understood what I had told him and that he was genuinely intrigued by the fun awaiting him.
The kiddos enjoyed tasting far more berries off the vine than ever made it into the bucket.  They had fun peeking in on a few animals and playing on the large playground area.  It's so fun to have good mommy friends with kiddos close in age.

Saturday we enjoyed the fruits of our labor.  Literally with a little blackberry and white chocolate chip pancake action.  Henry more than approved of the treat set before him.  Blackberry picking may have just become a tradition.

  1. I agree it should become a tradition we start! We will have to remember strawberries too at the beginning of summer!
