You Move Me

You Moved Me today, to laughing tears of joy.

Driving to work this morning I felt a flutter in my stomach that could only be you.  It lasted a few seconds but brought a day full of joy.  I immediately said a prayer of thanks for you and called your Daddy.  We smiled all day just thinking about you. moving. in. me.
On my way home from dinner I felt you again.
Three consecutive pokes, you let me know you were there.  :)
I'm on pins and needles awaiting your next move.  I love you little baby C.

Pregalicious

Getting Pregalicious.

Baby you have been growing!  I feel it more each day. I check the mirror as soon as I get up to see what you look like that day.  I feel how your making my body change and it's an amazing thing!  I can't wait to feel you move.  I anticipate it each day, what it will feel like when I know your kicking!
Your growing faster these days too, which I'm guessing is a good sign since we are in the second trimester.  I love you little Baby C.
I can't wait to see what you will be.

This is us at 8 weeks.  :)
Here we are at 12 weeks!  I was very happy for us to see this week!  You are growing....but man did you make me bloated around this time!  Yowzers!

Here we are at 16 weeks.  That bump....well it's all you kid!  (We have this cute outfit on because we were getting ready to go work out with Daddy)  :)

Here we are currently, sitting at week 17 and I can tell you're starting to grow faster little one.  :)  Keep it up!

Doomsday

Today as I travel to take my ESOL Praxis test, I'm a bit stressed.  Being underprepared is not my style. Yet, that's what I am.  So here goes hoping!
At least if I have to retake it I'll know what to expect!  Right?

Fall at the Lake

A few weeks ago when Barry was out of town, Kman and I headed down to the houseboat for a fun weekend with the family.   I picked Elise up from Katie and Lucas' house and had a fun filled time sharing laughs with my lil' niece.

Mom and Dad always have such a blast with her and are always thinking of new things to do with her.  We carved a pumpkin and let her experience the squishy goo inside the pumpkin.

We carved a face and then I asked her to smile like the pumpkin.....this is what we got.  :)
I had purchased the book Pinkalicious for her and hoped that she would like it.  She wouldn't let me read it to her, no it had to be her Pop.  :)  Over the course of the weekend it was read about 5 times total at her request!  :)  Score!
Sleep on the houseboat is usually like no other.  The light rock and sway of the water, the soft creaks of the tug and pull from the dock puts me in a mini coma.  Not on this night though.  Elise was up most of the night wailing about what.....we are not sure.  I began to think about the many sleepless nights in my future......
But then morning came and we awoke to this.  A little blond haired sweetheart, in footed monkey pajamas and a sweet smile on her face.

We had a lovely afternoon and took a nice boat ride to enjoy the fall colors in the trees.  On our journey we found the perfect little spot for a bonfire which included grilling hot dogs, eating sandwiches, and roasting the biggest marshmallows known to man!

Kman loved exploring the shore almost as much as Elise.  Though the water was cold nothing was going to stop this little water baby from playing in the lake a bit.  She dragged mom along with her saying "Nanny Hwim"  (Nanny Swim).  :)

It was the perfect little fall break get away.  The only thing that could have been better was to have my Barry there too.  :)

Super Surprise

Friday night we had the pleasure of being part of a great friends surprise 30th Birthday party.
Ali pulled off an amazing fun party without even the slightest hint being given away that something was in the works.  :)
The Plan:
We all met at Merrick in one of the quaint little upstairs rooms and waited patiently for the boys arrival.  Barry and Rob scooped up John and had planned to go "grab a drink" somewhere that night and they ended up having at Merrick.
It all went as planned and as you can see here:

It all went off without a hitch.  :)  He was completely surprised.

We spent the night enjoying great food, laughing and talking so loud people kept looking in our room to see what all the fun was about!  :)

It was a great celebration and ended with a yummy chocolate raspberry cake from Caramanda's  Mmmmm!

Way to go Ali!  You pulled off a great one!

It beats for you.

Push play, as you read if you like.  B and I love this song, and have heard it live.  Now it has new meaning.

We had a doctor's appointment today, which means a glorious gift.  We heard my new favorite sound in the world,  our sweet babies heart beat.
The instant the belly phone (that's what I'll call it), hit my stomach you could hear "boom, boom, boom" at 153 beats per minute loud and clear.

Sweet baby,
You had us in tears today just knowing you are alive and in me.  What a relief and pleasure to hear you.  We can't wait to meet you, to touch you, to kiss your sweet skin.
Your the most precious thing we've ever known, and boy do your Mommy and Daddy love you a lot.
Stay safe in there my little sprout.
God is Good.

We were in such baby bliss today that we decided to go ahead and order our crib.  We had been on the search for a while and finally made a decision with this simple and classic Babi Italia crib.  I can't wait to set it up, to have the nursery ready and just wait for our lil' Mini Cooper's arrival.

Kindness Come in Many Forms

Kindness comes in reusable food containers, from an amazing neighbor who thought we could use a home cooked meal we didn't have to make.  (and boy was it perfect timing!,  like God timing)  Chicken croquette's in a mushroom sauce, rolls, homemade mashed potatoes, and peanut butter chocolate dip with graham crackers!  Mmmmm

Kindness comes in a Starbucks cup.  Warm and filled with my season favorite, Pumpkin Spice.  Delivered by one of my best friends who happens to be a co worker too, who decided to brighten my day.

Kindness comes in a tiny box, with a baby outfit disguised as a cupcake, sitting on my desk as I arrive to work.  Yet another kind co-worker who is excited for our little one to come.  :)

Kindness comes in the form of a note on a napkin.  Last week my Mom spent the night with us while she was in town for business.  The next day at work I opened my lunch bag to find a little love note with her signature smiley face on it written on my napkin.  This was a lunch box staple growing up for all Miller girls.  A note on a napkin, a special sticker, a little card or post it note, just letting us know she loved us.  Now that is one kind Mama.  I pray to that kind of Mama too!
