a Berry good time.

Last week we had an amazing day.  Picking blackberries and enjoying the coolness in the air that let us know fall will soon be on it's way.
Henry was excited to go and I had my first taste of a conversation with him during our little trip.  I explained where we were going and what we would be doing as I buckled him into his car seat.  The whole drive there was filled with the sound of his little voice saying "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, berries."  "Mommy, Mommy, rabbit."  over and over again.  It was cool to know he understood what I had told him and that he was genuinely intrigued by the fun awaiting him.
The kiddos enjoyed tasting far more berries off the vine than ever made it into the bucket.  They had fun peeking in on a few animals and playing on the large playground area.  It's so fun to have good mommy friends with kiddos close in age.

Saturday we enjoyed the fruits of our labor.  Literally with a little blackberry and white chocolate chip pancake action.  Henry more than approved of the treat set before him.  Blackberry picking may have just become a tradition.

First Haircut

It started with a mullet.
And turned into a ponytail.  Which I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wanted to keep that way....seeing how it is mob week and all.......
 Oh yeah.

Well here we go.  Master with the scissors, Sir Cody down at Fleet Street has been working on this momma's hair for a while.  I couldn't imagine anyone being better with Henry for this kinda scary experience.

Oh my goodness he looks like a little boy.....not a....baby.

He rocked out the cut with only a few tears here and there.  It was a special milestone to have pass and I feel that the moments of him looking, and acting like a boy are going to come flooding in the door now that we have made this leap.
