Take Me Out to my first MLB game.

The classic tune of Take Me Out to the Ballgame was quickly picked up by our baseball loving 2 year old on warm July day.
He attended his first Reds baseball game and as he would tell, you they were playing the "Caugo Cubs".  He wiggled with excitement as he entered the stadium, saw Homer Bailey throwing a pitch, saw the batters, catchers, and dugout that he had seen on T.V. so many times before.  His mind seemed to be blown for the day as we experienced hotdogs, crunching peanuts and the traditional singing everyone adores during the 7th inning stretch.
He saw many of the big heroes he so adores.  Unfortunately Joey Votto was on the DL, but that didn't stop him from asking about him a few dozen times.

12 innings later.............someone felt a little exhausted from the big day.  He ate up every second of the experience, yelling "Hey batter batter!" "Go Reds!" or simply laughing a belly laugh.  The only time he wanted to get up from our seats was when he needed a diaper change and when we offered him ice cream.  He walked away with a real batting helmet which he wore until he couldn't any longer.......

He held onto it the entire ride home.  Memories made and a day well spent making our sweet Henry happy.

  1. What a great memory for Henry! We didn't make it to Cincy this season but Eli loved our local Bats games. Baseball is such fun with a two year old boy!

    1. You're so right Blair! They just soak up everything around them! Glad Eli is a baseball fan too!

  2. My husband and I will be taking our 2 year old to his first Reds game before the season is over. Did you or your husband change your sons diaper at the game? I am wondering how the accommodations are there for parents with small children.

  3. The position and angle of the bat before the pitch is released, as well as the stance, head angle, and knee bend, can be different from hitter to hitter. axial sports
