The wonder and excitement of Santa has filled sweet Henry's heart this year. We thought Christmas was fun before but watching his face through Christmas movie's, conversations, elf searches, and stories has brought so much joy to our hearts. I'm so thankful to experience it all through there eyes and step back into the childlike faith I once held for the man in red.
I've made a connection between Santa and Jesus this year that has made that jolly old elf seem a whole lot more special. The belief in someone you can not see but out of love brings gifts and joy to the whole world has been and will be my prayer for our children their whole lives. Having conversations about Christmas lights that represent the light of the world, candy canes for His name and giving presents because God gave us the greatest gift in Christ have been able to keep our focus continually coming back to the true meaning of it all.
Watching the old classics with two barefooted babies in their matching Christmas jammies has filled our hearts with gratitude and joy. It's also made me stop and ponder the true celebration of Christmas. Baking goodies, wrapping presents, and taking time to read our Advent verses have brought a sweet touch to this holiday season. It pains me to think of how quickly this magical time passed through our fingers, so I plan to let it linger long after we celebrate the birth of our savior. So if you pay me a visit this February and wonder why we still have all our Christmas decs up, look no further than that stable that causes every heart to prepare him room. I'm so thankful for the blessings of our savior, health, love, and family we are able to enjoy this Christmas season. "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
May that peace and joy reign in our hearts now and forever.
