Oh summer we have loved you so!
You've taken us to the beach, lake, and the zoo. You've watched us splash in the pool and rain puddles. You're hot temperatures have given us a reason to eat popsicles every day. You've allowed us to relax in our pj's until noon. You've seen our boy enjoy golf more than ever and watched as he learned to swim. You gave us time, and with it we were able to watch a brother and sister's relationship grow. We have enjoyed you so thoroughly.
Thank you summer.
Given the choice of any activity before starting preschool Henry chose to head to the driving range. We spent the majority of our time in the sand bunker's because chipping and digging out of tough spots is his favorite.
He was blessed to enjoy to golf camps this summer and being the youngest little guy there never stopped him. The way he handled being away from home in a new environment shows me he will do just fine in his new school this year.
Little sis though. Boy is she gonna miss her "heyyou" when he's gone all day. Thank goodness he's only going 2.5 days a week so we can all enjoy his company a bit longer. big brother - protector of little sister; sometimes gently, sometimes forcefully but always a protector.
That's one tired, hot, sweaty but happy boy.
We couldn't love the two of you more, so it warms our hearts to see how your relationship is growing. Henry has been excited as could be for Mallie Lynn to get older because he wants to be able to talk to her and play. Slowly that little wish is coming true. He has always talked about her saying "oh Moo, you're so cute!" "she is the cutest baby girl ever!" and she has of course always looked up to him. He is her first request when she wakes up and she always needs to give him a hug and kiss before bedtime.
your goofy together
you explore together
Learning to swim was one big proud moment!
You learn from each other in the obvious ways as Mallie Lynn tries to do everything big brother does; Sometimes the learning discrete; in fact if I didn't take time to sit back and think about it I might miss it; the fact that your daily arguments and fussing over toys is helping you both grow. I pray you learn to lovingly cooperate with each other so you can love on the rest of the world that way too.

I'm so ridiculously in love with our little family. My time with these two over the summer has been everything. I'm excited for school to start too and to see all the ways they grow during this next season. If I could freeze time though.....I just might do it.
