A day at the track

For a little girl who loves her "howses" and a little boy who adores all sports the race track is always an exciting spot to be.  We had the pleasure of enjoying Keenland as a family on one of our warm spring days and had lots of fun picking and cheering for horses.  As ML likes to say "Go Howsies GO!"

Highlight of the day may have been talking to Bucky before he played the bugle.  He handed the kiddos peppermints to feed to the ponies.

B and I made a trip up to Churchill Downs for Thurby this year to celebrate my cousin Wes's bday.  It's a newer event for Derby week and has become another fun way to celebrate derby!  We are thankful that we had some dress up fun early in the week because little miss ended up sick for Derby weekend.  We had a fun celebration at home though and stayed as festive as possible, derby cookies, mint juleps, and derby pie!  All a must!

Love this time of year!  Always a proud time to be a Kentuckian!
