Our little tin man got his wish this year. After seeing the Wizard of Oz at the children's theater this spring he has been utterly obsessed with every tune and character. So upon announcing his final decision on a costume this year he proceeded to tell us how expected us to dress up too. It wasn't something we had done before but with as much fun as I had grabbing the sewing machine, crafting up our costumes, and seeing the excitement in our little man's face over it all we may just be "that family" who dresses up every year.
The kiddos got an extra big treat when we arrived at Gran and Pops to find Gran dressed up for the occasion and fitting right into the theme!!
We made a trip downtown to visit Pumpkinmania which was quite a site to see. We gathered ideas for faces to carve on our own pumpkin and after gazing at all that glowing glory Henry decided on a scary face.
Henry enjoyed helping scoop and design but Mallie Lynn was less than thrilled with the goop and goo.
Lil' miss did get her chance to play with pumpkins and decided that shell on, they aren't so bad.
Our October was filled with every fun filled activity we could squeeze in and we put a huge dent in our fall "to do" list. So now we sit at the beginning of November watching colors change, leaves fall and the smell of pumpkin spice everywhere. I'm in my happy place! Well, who am I kidding? I'm in my happy place anywhere this little family of mine happens to be.
