Foto Reel Friday-9 weeks

Our week in fotos!  :)
Happy weekend to you!
We had more fun in the bath.
We played on the floor together.
He got to smell flowers from our garden.  They made him smile.
 Chillin.
 Took a walk with Kiran.

Had a great visit from sweet Callan, Jodie, and Lindsay
 Cuddled with Daddy.
Had lunch with cousin Noah and his aunts.

He grew another leg roll.  :)

 Hung out with his buddy.
 Chilling on a Saturday.
 Stretching his long limbs.

All in all I'd say we had another great week!  :)
Welcome to the Weekend!

Traffic School

Ahhhh traffic school.  It use to be something you sit through for hours on end on a Saturday after getting a speeding ticket.  Now they offer it online.  However, I have a better and more permanent solution to creating safer drivers.

Stick a baby in the back seat.

I thought it might change after the first few times of driving with lil' man in the backseat, but no I'm officially driving like a grandma.  :)

Coming across an intersection, even with a green light, I find myself slowing to look in all directions.

Stop signs get an extra few seconds of my time.

The speed limit, I pretty much follow it.  (or close to)

Cell phone.  There is no looking at that bad boy unless I'm hitting the speaker button to answer a call.  (gotta get the bluetooth hooked up)

Yes I'd say the biggest driving hazard for me now is the fact that I may come off a red light a little slow do to me staring in my rearview mirror.

Wouldn't you?

How does your spiritual garden grow?

Sunday our pastor focused on Acts 18.  He asked us to look at our lives and ask ourselves "Who is challenging you spiritually?" "Who is pushing you to go further, become stronger in your walk?"

I immediately knew the answer to that question for myself.   Funny thing is, it's something I've thought about a lot lately because the person who is challenging me has taken me by surprise.

See he can't walk, talk or even eat on his own but he moves me.

Everyday he grows physically and mentally while pushing me to grow emotionally and spiritually.

I didn't expect this part of motherhood, but I welcome it.  Who doesn't want to be challenged and molded into a better version of you?

This little man makes me want to be a better person, and not just to him but to everyone I come in contact with.  Through prayer I'm realizing that my actions are going to mean so much more than anything else I say, and he already watches my every move.

I will fail because I'm human and insanely imperfect.  But I hope he someday sees in me the light and love of Christ.  That he knows and longs for that amazing and wonderous love that allows us to feel safe and protected no matter what this world throws our way.  I pray for his spiritual journey every night while I rock him to sleep.

This precious gift of motherhood is giving me new meaning in life, and I'm forever thankful.

The many faces of Henry Thomas- 2 Months

Yes, I'm speaking the same words that I heard so many others use before me.   "I can't believe he's already two months old."  He seems so much bigger to me now as he grows and changes every day.  It's true, it goes so fast.
I have enjoyed every day with him and know that I fall more in love with him each day.  The sweet personality that he holds is slowly being revealed.
With every coo and smile my heart melts.

This month I learned the emotional toll his growth will have on me, as he stopped wearing newborn diapers and onesies and began filling out his once wrinkly skin.
He knows us now, and he shows it by looking for us when the sound of our voice enters a room.
His sweet little neck is gaining strength and he shows it by lifting up when we hold him (which sometimes results in head butting) or doing baby push ups when on his belly.  He knows his routine now and on most nights is able to be put in his crib after being rocked and sung to with eyes open but tired and fall asleep on his own.  From week 6-8 he has grown more alert and is showing us what a calm and happy baby he is.  When he is at his fussiest a quick trip outside usually makes him happy again.
This boy is a joy beyond anything I've ever dreamed of.
 So. In. Love.

Foto Reel Friday- 8 weeks

On Monday Henry turned 8 weeks old.  He is more alert and awake than ever before during the day.  We discovered just how much he loves the outdoors, when he is having a fussy moment a quick gaze at the sky soothes him completely.  He is really enjoying going for walks and had several of them this week.  He understands his routine, especially at bedtime and can get to sleep in his crib when he's laid down at night.  :)

Some grandparent and great grandparent time.

Daddy time

Walks with my cousins and aunts who came to town.  :)

Loving the stroller
Nanny and Sarah came to see me!

Walking with friends on a gorgeous morning.
He was inconsolable and this was the only place he wanted to be.
He loves the water now.  Calm as a cucumber in the bath.
We are loving this baby more and more everyday.
